FAQ’s

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower of the cannabis plant. CBD is a safe, non-addictive substance and is one of more than 100 “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.

The human body has its own endocannabinoid system (ECS). Our ECS consists of a number of cannabinoid (CBD) receptors that are endogenous to the human brain. The endocannabinoids are chemical receptors at the end of every cell that help maintain homeostasis. These receptors play an important role in regulating several physiological processes such as mood, memory, pain, & appetite. When your body does not produce enough endocannabinoids you are more susceptible to illnesses with a weakened immune system.

CBD can be taken by any of the following methods:

  • Sublingual – this means that it is taken in oil form under the tongue and absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
  • Inhaled – this delivery method can be done by smoking smokeable hemp flower, vaping, or dabbing. This method also delivers CBD directly to the bloodstream.
  • Edible – this delivery method is achieved by eating products such as gummies or candy that are infused with CBD. This method is not nearly as effective as sublingual or inhaling as the CBD is processed through your digestive system and it not immediately available in your bloodstream.
  • Topical – this is the least effective delivery method, but can be used to treat specific pain spots as it is applied directly to the source of discomfort and can have some immediate benefits to the tissue.

Full-spectrum means that the product contains all of the cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant, rather than just CBD. Full spectrum products are associated with the “entourage effect” – this refers to the increased effectiveness of these products due to the different cannabinoids working synergistically.

Currently there is no recommended daily allowance for CBD. Finding the right dosage that works for you is more of an art than a science. Our tinctures contain 33mg CBD per 1ml dropper. A good starting point is to take 3-4mg per 10lbs of body weight daily (so for example a 150lb person should take 45-60mg per day to start). You can adjust up or down from here depending on your desired results. CBD has been found safe in doses in excess of 1,500mg/day so experimenting in smaller doses is safe and effective.

Every person is different so there is no definitive answer. We cannot guarantee that a failed drug is not a possibility. While all of our products have THC limits below the federal standard of 0.3% and are legal in all 50 states because each individual is different we cannot confirm or deny if this will cause a failed drug test. Contact us for THC-free products if you have a job where this is a concern.

CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not make you “high” or intoxicated. All of our CBD products are derived from industrial hemp which contains less than 0.3% THC which is the legal limit. THC levels contained in our products are not nearly enough to make you feel “high”.
